Ramadan in Ottoman Jerusalem vs Occupied Jerusalem

The Ottoman Caliphate ruling Jerusalem in the late 19th century, would announce the beginning of Ramadan by firing a canon. Today Israel and its western backers occupying Jerusalem announce the beginning of Ramadan by murdering Muslim babies. وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوا إِثْمًا ۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ “Those who are kafir should not imagine that the extra time We grant to them is good for them. We only allow them more time so they will increase in evildoing. They will have a humiliating punishment.” (Al-Imran, 3:178) فَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ “Do not let their wealth and children impress you. Allah merely wants to punish them by them during their life in this world and for them to expire while they are kuffar.” (At-Tawba, 9:55)

“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you…”

BY ABU YUSUF This tafseer has been reproduced from Arabic Trench O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard (against evil). (Al-Baqara, 2:183)

Ramadan in the Ottoman Caliphate

All Elements of Ottoman Society Fasted during Ramadan The fourth pillar of Islam is fasting during the month of Ramazan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, and requires that Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoke, snuff, and sexual activities every day from sunrise to sunset. Fasting is not obligatory for children before the onset of puberty, people with an illness or medical condition, nursing and pregnant women, travelers, and those fighting on the battlefield. Despite these rules, children, pregnant women, travelers, and soldiers in the Ottoman era fasted during the entire month.

Misapplication of the Bay’a (pledge of allegiance) in Islamic History

The second principle of the Islamic ruling system is that ‘Authority belongs to the Muslim Ummah.’ The Khaleefah is not a king or dictator who imposes his authority on the people through coercion and force. The Khaleefah’s authority to rule MUST be given willingly by the Muslims through the Islamic ruling contract known as bay’a. Without this bay’a the Khaleefah cannot rule.

“They desire to extinguish Allah’s Light with their mouths but Allah will perfect His Light, though the disbelievers hate it.”

The following is based on a translation of Dr Fadhel al Samarrai’s Tafseer of Surah Saff. Regimes throughout the world use various means in an attempt to extinguish the work to resume the Islamic way of life. They use bans, arrest, torture, imprisonment and label the message of Islam as extremist and terrorist. However, this verse makes it crystal clear that no matter how much they try, Allah’s light (guidance) cannot be extinguished and Allah will ensure the Islamic message prevails.

“Who could do greater wrong than someone who invents a lie against Allah when he has been called to Islam?”

The following is based on a translation of Dr Fadhel al Samarrai’s Tafseer of Surah Saff. We can see today how the enemies of Islam fabricate lies against Islam in order to prevent people from following the truth. The foreign policy of a future Caliphate is to carry Islam to the world through daw’ah and jihad. The objective of offensive jihad is not to kill people, but rather to make Allah’s word the highest in the land it liberates by removing the physical obstacles to people seeing the truth of Islam.

“And when Jesus son of Mary said, ‘Oh Tribe of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allah to you”

The following is based on a translation of Dr Fadhel al Samarrai’s Tafseer of Surah Saff. The Christians should listen to the words of the noble prophet Jesus son of Mary who informs them of the coming of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who in the bible is called Ahmed, which is translated in to English as “the one who praises” or “the praised one” or “comforter”. And when ‘Isa son of Maryam said, ‘Oh Tribe of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allah to you, confirming the Torah which came before me and giving you the good news of a Messenger after me whose name is Ahmad.’ When he brought them the Clear Signs, they said, ‘This is obvious magic.’ (Surah Saff, verse 6)

Islam: Tough on Crime, Tough on the Causes of Crime

London is experiencing a surge in violent crime with 56 murders in this year alone. Yesterday six young men were stabbed within 90 minutes. In response politicians and media have blamed lack of police, poverty, closing of youth clubs, social media and dysfunctional families. However, what is never addressed are the concepts and values which drive someone to commit these crimes. The values underpinning this growing lawlessness is rampant individualism due to society’s belief in freedom and liberalism.
