Boris Burka Comments: “Hatred has appeared out of their mouths, but what their breasts hide is far worse.”

Former British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, like many other failed politicians, saw an opportunity to boost his credibility this week, by attacking Muslim women and comparing them to ‘bank robbers’ simply because they wear Islamic dress. This attack by some of the Jews and Christians (People of the book) is not new, and Allah warns us to remain vigilant against their plans and to remain steadfast on Islam. If we do this then their plots cannot harm us and in fact they will bring Muslims closer to Islam.

Tafseer Surah Tin

The following is based on a translation of Dr Fadhel al Samarrai’s Tafseer of Surah Tin. (1) By the fig and the olive (2) and Mount Sinai (3) and this safe land, (4) We created man in the finest mould. (5) Then We reduced him to the lowest of the low, (6) except for those who have iman and do right actions: they will have a reward which never fails. (7) What could make you deny the Reckoning after this? (8) Is Allah not the most just of Judges? (Surah At-Tin) The sura begins with the oath: والتين والزيتون ‘By the fig and the olive’ which are two well-known trees and the mufasireen have cited several reasons for mentioning these two trees.

“The example of my ummah is like the rain. It is not known whether the initial part or the latter part is good.”

This has been reproduced from Ottoman Dynasty Foundation. A hundred years ago, Ottoman soldiers entrusted these banknotes to Palestinian merchant, Ragheb Hilmi Al-Halul when they were retreating from Palestine and said: “When we come back, we will take our money”. Ragheb Hilmi Al-Halul family has been keeping these banknotes for a century. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: مثل أمتي مثل المطر لا يدرى أوله خير أم آخره “The example of my ummah is like the rain. It is not known whether the initial part or the latter part is good.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2869)

Tafseer Surah Al-Qadr

BY ABU YUSUF This tafseer has been reproduced from Ayat Reflection Surely We revealed it on laylatu-Al Qadr. And what will make you comprehend what is laylatu-Al Qadr? Laylatu-Al Qadr is better than a thousand months. The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! it is until the break of morning. (Surah Al-Qadr)

Death of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: A timeline of events

There is no dispute that the burial of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the best man who ever lived and greatest of all the prophets, was delayed. However, confusion may arise over the reasons for this delay and how to view the companions’s actions who collectively consented to this delay. This question is discussed in detail in the article Why was Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ burial delayed?

“It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the Deen of Truth to exalt it over every other deen, though the idolaters hate it.”

The following is based on a translation of Dr Fadhel al Samarrai’s Tafseer of Surah Saff. There is a huge difference between the propagation of Islamic values and Western values. Samuel Huntington says, “The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion (to which few members of other civilizations converted) but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.” * * The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, p.51

“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you…”

BY ABU YUSUF This tafseer has been reproduced from Arabic Trench O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard (against evil). (Al-Baqara, 2:183)

Ramadan in the Ottoman Caliphate

All Elements of Ottoman Society Fasted during Ramadan The fourth pillar of Islam is fasting during the month of Ramazan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, and requires that Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoke, snuff, and sexual activities every day from sunrise to sunset. Fasting is not obligatory for children before the onset of puberty, people with an illness or medical condition, nursing and pregnant women, travelers, and those fighting on the battlefield. Despite these rules, children, pregnant women, travelers, and soldiers in the Ottoman era fasted during the entire month.
