Forty-nine Muslims have been massacred and at least 20 others injured in shootings at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch in the worst attack in the Pacific country’s history.

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told a news conference that the mosque shootings appeared to be a well-planned “terrorist attack”.

وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

“The only reason they punished them was because they had iman in Allah, the Almighty, the All-Praiseworthy”

(Al-Buruj: 8)

Inna lilallahi wa inna ilayhi raajiun.

May Allah accept the martyrdom of those killed on the blessed day of jumah. They died worshiping Allah which is an honour only given to a select few.

In the absence of the Khilafah it’s open season on the Muslim ummah. From Palestine to China and now in the west no where is safe. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prophesied our current situation where we are like froth and scum that is carried down by a torrent of water. He ﷺ said:

“The People will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their food.” Someone asked, “Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?” He ﷺ replied, “No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be froth and scum like that carried down by a torrent (of water), and Allah will take the fear of you from the breasts (hearts) of your enemy and cast al-wahn into your hearts.” Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what is al-wahn?” He ﷺ replied, “Love of the world and dislike of death.” (Abu Dawud 4297)

Only when the regimes and armies in Muslim lands remove wahn from their hearts and establish a rightly guided Khilafah will our ummah finally find security and peace. Allah (Most High) promises this:

وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ

“Allah has promised those of you who have iman and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their deen with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. ‘They worship Me, not associating anything with Me.’ Any who are kafir after that, such people are deviators.”

(An-Nur, 24:55)
