The current crisis in Egypt with the removal of Morsi is a test from Allah سبحانه وتعالى and shouldn’t weaken our confidence in the Islamic ruling system. When we turn to the Ancient Greeks rather than Allah سبحانه وتعالى for guidance on how to rule, then we shouldn’t be surprised when it ends in disaster.
“As for the one who disregards My message, he will have a miserable life, and we resurrect him, on the Day of resurrection, blind.”
(Ta Ha, 20:124)
InshaAllah the events in Egypt will finally put to bed the notion that Islamic rule can be established through democracy. Allah سبحانه وتعالى is the Creator and has revealed the best ruling system for mankind in the Qur’an and Sunnah, i.e. the Caliphate, and the correct method to establish it. We don’t need outdated, defunct ideas from the ancient Greeks. Allah سبحانه وتعالى is enough for us.
“Those to whom people said, ‘The people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But that merely increased their iman and they said, ‘Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians.’”
(Al-Imran, 3:173)
